The Hermosa Beach Historical Society & Museum is proud to present our annual Tongva Experience Field Trip virtually for our Hermosa Beach 4th Grade Students this year. We would like to thank the Hermosa Beach Kiwanis Club for sponsoring this program.
We are thrilled to welcome back Julia Bogany, a Tribal Council Member and the Cultural Consultant for the Tongva-Gabrielino, the native people of the South Bay. Julia will be sharing the history, stories, and culture of the Tongva Tribe with our students to help fulfill their California History educational requirement.
Students would usually complete a craft during their field trip, so we would like to invite parents to pick up a craft kit from the Hermosa Beach Museum for their students to complete at home during their virtual field trip. The Hermosa Beach Museum is located at 710 Pier Avenue, on West side of the Community Center. We share the parking lot with the tennis courts.
Kits will be available for parent pick up on Saturday November 14th from 9AM to 11AM and Monday November 16th from 2 PM to 4PM. There will be one kit available for each 4th grade student.
HERMOSA VALLEY STUDENTS:
Those materials NOT picked up by students/parents will then be delivered to Valley on the 16th after 4:00. Teachers will coordinate with remaining students/parents with school office pick-ups on the 17th, 18th, and 19th. The YouTube video/virtual field trip will be presented to students on the 20th.
